Standard Methodology

How the New Basic & Gross Salary is Calculated

Pay Revision calculations follow an established mathematical procedure to adjust salary structure for inflation and living costs.

1

1. Dearness Allowance (DA) Merge

The sanctioned Dearness Allowance of 33.67% is merged directly into the existing basic pay.

Old DA Amount = Basic Pay × 33.67%
2

2. Fitment Addition

A fitment percentage (e.g. 7.5%, 15%, 20%, 25%, or 30%) is calculated on the existing basic pay and added to the DA merged sum.

Fitment Amount = Basic Pay × (Fitment% / 100)
3

3. Stage Fixation (Estimated ₹100 Multiple Proxy)

Under statutory Rule 6(b) of G.O.Ms.No. 51, pay is fixed at the stage next above in the Master Scale. In this 2nd PRC simulation (pending release of the new master scale), the sum is rounded up to the next ₹100 stage.

New Basic = Math.ceil(RawTotal / 100) × 100
4

4. Addition of New DA and HRA

New DA (fixed at 4.27%) and applicable House Rent Allowance (11%, 13%, 17%, or 24%) are computed on the newly fixed basic pay to reach the Monthly Gross Salary.

New Gross = New Basic + New DA (4.27%) + Revised HRA

Fitment Percentage

The additional percentage of basic pay awarded by the government as real salary enhancement over and above inflation.

DA Merger (33.67%)

The permanent incorporation of accumulated Dearness Allowance into basic pay, resetting inflation indices to base zero.

Master Scale

A continuous 32-grade salary chain spanning ₹19,000 to ₹1,62,070 with designated increment steps across career stages.

PRC Option Form (Rules 5 & 6)

The statutory election enabling employees to choose between the G.O. effective date or their next annual increment date under G.O.Ms.No. 51.

Notional Benefit

Paper fixations used to determine increment progression and seniority without immediate financial cash disbursement.

Stage Fixation (Rule 6(b))

Under statutory Rule 6(b), pay fixes at the stage next above in the Master Scale. In 2nd PRC simulations, ₹100 rounding is used as a proxy until the new scale is released.
